An integrated program of
individual counseling and small group sessions. Each of the Guidance Counselors
are responsible for a particular year to see each student during that year as
often as need arises.
9th Year
Each student will be met at
least once during the year for a private interview with the Freshman
Counselor. Co-op and other test scores are evaluated. Freshman
performance is monitored by the Freshman counselor.
10th Year
Emphasis on career and
college information, job interview techniques and teenage social
adjustment.

11th Year
1st Semester emphasis is on
general principles of college planning: college, curriculum-career
relationship, types of colleges, entrance requirements (SAT scores,
grades, activities, recommendations) of various colleges.
2nd Semester emphasis is on
matching personal academic abilities and career expectations to
particular colleges by familiarity with the following:

Private, State and City
colleges

Financial Aid information
-
How to fill out college
applications
-
Letters of
recommendations
-
Statement of goals by
each junior in writing by use of a resume and autobiography.
Juniors take the Preliminary
College Boards (PSAT) in November and the College Boards (SAT) in May.
Individual college representatives visit the school to speak
individually or in groups to the juniors, and College Nights are held at
the school and other locations to give them a full appreciation of the
broad range of choices involved.

12th Year
Individual college counseling
and meeting with parents of each senior. Applications are reviewed and
processed. Contacts are set up with colleges and college representatives
for mutual visits.
