The main objective of these courses is to make the student literate in the use of technology, aware of its constant change, and understand the social impact that technology plays in our everyday lives.
Required Courses
Computer Literacy (9th Year) An introductory course that presents keyboarding, word processing, electronic spreadsheets, and visual presentations such as slide shows and web pages. Students will also be introduced to topics related to the the social impact of computers within our society such as privacy, and robotics.
Computer Programming (12 Year) The course will include fundamentals of computing, program design, testing, and correctness using C++ programming language. Additionally, the course will present algorithm analysis, an introduction to data structures such as linked links, stacks, queues ad trees. This course is part of the High School Extension Program of St. John's University. Successful completion will result in six credits awarded by St. John's University.
Multimedia Design (12th Year) A course designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to develop visual presentations and interactive Web sites. The courses uses a hands-on approach that enables students to acquire the ability to develop, plan and implement visual presentations and web sites using MS PowerPoint and MS FrontPage respectfully.
