LaSallian Youth Group

Club Moderator: Mrs.Calchi

Club Officers:

 

Description: The boys follow the ways of the Lasallian Tradition of community service and faith. They are also committed to helping the community both in school and neighborhood.

 

Activities: Within the school they aid in the Grotto Clean-Up and set and clean-up each dance. Within the Staten Island community they

  • work with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

  • shovel snow for the seniors

  • collect for numerous food and coat/clothing drives

  • gift-wrap for the Toys for Tots program.

Interact Club

Club Moderator: Mrs. Calchi

 

Description: The Interact Club is in association with the Mid-Island Rotary of Staten Island. They are greatly involved in helping the community.

 

Activities: This year the Interact Club will help raise money in JDRF, help the Rotary with various foundations and send many packages to troops in Iraq.

Library Club

Club Moderator: Mrs. Calchi

 

Description: The members of the Library Club will ultimately learn how the library works. They will assist in all of Mrs. Calchi's daily activities that take place in the library. The boys will work in the morning, during their lunch periods and after school.

Drama Club

Club Moderator: Mrs. Coppola

 

Description: Practices to put on one musical per year. Performers sing, dance and act. Each year the gentlemen of St. Peter's Boys High School put on a production in conjunction with St. Peter's Girls High School & Notre Dame Academy.

Yearbook & Video Yearbook

Club Moderator: Mrs. Calchi & Mr. Sal Castellano

 

Description: The yearbook members will take photos of various events throughout the year and piece the work together. The video yearbook students will record various events throughout the school year.

 

Activities: The yearbook staff will take pictures at dances, collect baby pictures and take senior car pictures. The video yearbook will record school sporting events and other notable events.

Celtic Society

Club Moderator: Mr. Anthony McAllen

Club Officers:

 

Description: A club that celebrates Celtic heritage and history as well as taking part in events that have meaning in the Celtic way of life. The club will be marching in the Staten Island St. Patrick's Day Parade, organize a trip to the Irish Famine exhibit in New York City, and a trip to a Rugby Match in Gaelic Park in the Bronx.

Chess Club

Club Moderator: Mr. Arne Mattsson

Club Officers:

 

Description: The Chess Club will be a place where students of all skill levels can play or learn to play chess and also to integrate their strategies.

Newspaper

Club Moderator: Ms. Nicole Burzo

Club Officers:

 

Description: The Newspaper will be published four to seven times a year. The "Eagle" will consist of articles, photography, and illustrations done by the students all having to do with a variety of academic and social issues. Entertainment, sports and academic articles appear in every issue.

 

Activities: Other than the usual Wednesday meetings, there will be more frequent meetings pending on the success of the "Eagle".

History Club

Club Moderator: Mr. Gerard Gibbons

 

Description: The History Club will examine all different eras in history in order to understand the impact made by certain cultures. Members will be able to investigate, discuss, and debate various historical wars and social changes. They will also examine historical leaders in order to determine what influence they made in their society as well as society at large.
